Data we will not accept

Phasegate is a place to write about your business in plain commercial language. It is not a place to store sensitive or controlled government information. The rule is simple: if it would require special handling under federal information-security or export-control rules, it does not belong here.

What we will not accept

• Classified information of any kind.
• Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), including text carrying a CUI banner or a CUI//SP- marking.
• Export-controlled technical data under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the U.S. Munitions List, or 22 CFR 120–130.
• Export-controlled technical data under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including ECCN and EAR99 markings, or 15 CFR 730–774.
• Text carrying Distribution Statement B through F.
• Proposal technical volumes.
• SBIR/STTR data-rights legends.
• Any third party’s proprietary or trade-secret material.

What to write instead

Write the same business story in plain commercial language: customers, markets, competitors, pricing, partners, and milestones. That is exactly what a Commercialization Plan asks for, and none of it requires technical data, classification markings, or export controls to say clearly.

How the check works

We scan text you submit for the markings and language above, and we refuse to save anything that matches. False positives are expected and intentional: an honest sentence like “our product is export-controlled” will be refused, because the safe behavior is to refuse first and let you rewrite it, not to guess. If a submission is refused, remove the flagged wording or restate the same point in ordinary business terms and try again.

The scan is a control, not a guarantee. It can miss things, and it cannot judge what a sentence means, only what it matches. The responsibility for what you submit to Phasegate is yours.
